Thanksgiving Stain Guide

Thanksgiving is finally here and while you eat delicious home cooked food with your family, the last thing you want to be worried about is dealing with pesky stains. Luckily we’ve got the inside scoop on how to get rid of 5 common Thanksgiving stains with Rockin’ Green!

Gravy

Everyone’s Thanksgiving must-have is at the top of the list because it’s a combo stain – greasy pan drippings and butter (cream) are combined.

First, scrape and rinse off all the gravy solids with water. Create a paste with Rockin’ Green Active Wear detergent and warm water. Let it sit for 30 minutes before soaking the stained item in warm water for an hour. Finish up by running it through the rinse cycle in your washing machine using the hottest water the fabric allows, without any extra detergent to get out even the toughest stains.

Cranberries

The same property that gives cranberries their healthy touch also makes that red color stain almost everything it touches.

Mix 2 tablespoons of your favorite Rockin’ Green detergent with warm water. Soak the stained area in this solution for about 1 hour. Remove and rinse thoroughly with cold water. If a little stain remains, wash in the hottest water the fabric will allow.

Pumpkin

That festive orange color isn't so festive on your white tablecloth or good shirt.

You need a special agent to help fight this protein stain. Magic ingredient: enzyme-based laundry detergent like Rockin’ Green’s Active Wear detergent.  Rinse the stain with cold water. Rub in the detergent  with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Let sit for about 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water again. Then wash in hot water.

Red Wine

Red wine is famous for not wanting to leave a party. Send it on its way with Rockin’ Green and cold water.

Don’t rub a wine stain - that makes it worse. Instead, rinse it with cold water. Cover the stain with your favorite Rockin’ Green Detergent. Let sit for about 15 minutes. Pour cold water over the detergent and let it sit for several hours. Rinse with very hot water. Now you can run it through the washing machine.

Butter

Everything's better with butter, except your favorite tablecloth, dress or pants.

Take a piece of thick cardboard and slide it under the stain. Greasy stains seem to spread like wildfire. Let the cardboard do the work and soak up the excess grease. It also gives you leverage for scrubbing. Create a paste with Rockin’ Green Active Wear detergent and warm water. Let it sit for 30 minutes before soaking the stained item in warm water for an hour. Finish up by running it through the rinse cycle in your washing machine using the hottest water the fabric allows, without any extra detergent.
