If you’re anything like us here at Rockin’ Green, you’ve picked up a new hobby this summer: tie-dying. While it’s super fun, it can be scary to throw your freshly tie-dyed items in the wash with your other clothing. Fear not, we’ve got a step-by-step wash routine to preserve all your hard work as summer comes to a close and we say goodbye to the tie-dye.
- If the tie-dye is fresh, give it some time. Wait 24 hours before washing to ensure the dye has time to set.
- Now you’re ready to wash! For the first few washes, we recommend washing the tie-dye pieces on their own to prevent any bleeding onto your other clothing. Group similarly colored items and opt for hot or warm water for the first wash. We recommend using our Classic or Hard Rock Detergents to help preserve the tie-dye’s vibrant colors while also making sure they’re clean!
- Toss those babies in the dryer or hang them up to air dry.
- After a few individual washes, they should be safe to wash with your other clothing in cold water.
Keep in Mind
Accidents happen! If your tie-dyed items bleed onto other clothing, Rockin’ Green’s Active Wear Detergent is here to save the day. Mix equal parts water with our Active Wear Detergent to create a paste that’s perfect for stain removal. Apply the paste liberally to the stain and allow it to sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour before running the item through a rinse cycle!
As we transition into autumn weather, it’s also time to retire your swimsuits. In our blog, “The Dos And Don’ts to Properly Cleaning Swimwear”, we cover the best process to deep clean your swimsuits before packing them away!
