5 Workouts to Spice Up Your Exercise Routine

You’ve found your fitness groove, but what do you do when it starts to feel like a rut? It’s easy for your routine to turn into a rut when you’re doing the same run or the same class each time. Take a Hike

Take a break from your normal routine and opt for a hike. If you don’t have any trails near you, find a place outdoors you’ve never been and explore on foot. Take someone you live with or a furry friend and get some fresh air while also getting your blood pumping.

Gamify Your Routine

Turn your next HIIT or cardio workout into an exciting game. There are a few fitness games available for purchase, but if you’ve got a deck of cards lying around, we’ve got a great DIY game in mind.


Assign an exercise to each suit and do the number of reps that comes up on the card. The exercise possibilities are endless! Try to challenge yourself to make it through the entire deck.

Schedule your next workout or run with your significant other. You’ve got a date and your daily sweat knocked out in one outing. Ride your bikes down a scenic trail or take an online class of your choice together. This is peak romance, right?

Bring Back the Hoop

You might remember hula hooping as a child, but if that’s the last time you’ve seen one, you’re missing out on a majorly fun (and effective) workout. Outside of the standard back-and-forth or side-to-side hooping, you can use a hoop for some slide under sumo squats or hula hops.
