Educational and Active Summer Classes for Kids

Summer isn’t the favorite time of year for most parents because it means a whole lot of free time for your children. If you work, you’ll need to arrange care for the day times. If you stay at home, your quiet and productive days will turn into pool times, play dates, and loudness. For all families, summer classes are an ideal solution. Here are five interesting and unique ideas for the summer:

1. Science Camp

What kid doesn’t love a good experiment? Or outer space? If you child loves science, a science camp is the perfect way for them to spend a week. The great thing about science camps is that they are educational, so even though it’s summer, your kid will still be learning. Learning plus having fun!

2. Nature Camp

If your child loves the outdoors, then nature camp is the perfect camp for them! Try to find a camp that has an outline for the week that interests your child. Most nature camps explore the outdoors, take hikes, and learn about animals and bugs. Some might even teach survival safety, like building a fire, identifying safe food, and finding one’s way by the stars.

3. Circus Camp

Calling all lion tamers! This camp isn’t for everyone, but the outgoing children will love it. Circus camps can be physically challenging, so don’t sign your child up if they don’t enjoy physical activity. They are also really fun for kids, with lots of laughing and animals. If your child is adventurous and loves trying new things, let them try a circus camp!

4. Art Classes

Most communities offer summer art classes for kids. Art classes are a great summer activity for children because it allows them to be creative and have fun while adding structure to their day. At the end of the week you will also have some great art work to hang on the fridge!

5. Cooking Classes

Let your kids explore their culinary creativity at a summer cooking class! One place in particular, Kitchen Kid, offers summer cooking camps for kids in Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Beverly Hills and Silver Lake. They offer both half day and full time camps where the kids take trips to local farmers markets and cook up some fun! If you aren’t in the California area, chances are there is something similar in your area.

At ZizzyBee, we believe children bring fun and whimsy to our lives…along with the need for organization of hundreds of teeny, tiny little toy parts. And like most moms, we believe it is important to keep organized while using products for our children that are safe, washable, well designed, and practical. With this in mind, full-time single mom and entrepreneur Lisa Paul Heydet, saw a need and created ZizzyBee Bags.™

ZizzyBee Bags eliminate the need for baskets and bins and makes toys portable and travel a snap. The attractive see-through, reusable storage bags look good hanging from a hook or stacked in a diaper bag or suitcase. Keep children’s rooms organized by storing toys and clothes in ZizzyBee Bags. With two different sizes to choose from, you can use ZizzyBee Bags to keep items organized in desks, closets and more. They are easily packable and transportable for vacations, gym and work, road trips, school, grandparent’s house, playdates, strollers and so much more.
